First of all, I am sorry if I am posting the same question a hundredth time, but I could not find it in the forum. Also, I have already tried several configurations with no success.

My problem is:

• The option

  -Dsun.java2d.opengl

  is set to false; then everything works, but moving furnitures around is damn slow. Each redraw takes about half a second, which makes designing frustrating.

  is set to true, then the graphics is quick. However, the startup splash and many menus (context menus, the "Open recent" submenu, etc) are empty. If I click within the the menus, it shows that the text is just invisible, but the menu is indeed working. This is quite unuseful.

Setting to 1.5 or 1.6 does not help either; neither does turning on and off.

How can have both, quick graphics and visible text in the menus?

My OS is Manjaro Linux, Java is OpenJDK 1.8.0_222. My GPU is an Intel i915 compatible.
