I tested Sweet Home 3D 2.4 beta under Mac OS X 10.4 yesterday, and it worked with no problem (it wasn't on a G3 though).
From your console message and a request similar to yours, I guess you're running Sweet Home 3D from the Java Web Start link and not from the installer package.
Try to run it from the installer version.
