In Romania is the same except plumbing supplies.(Indeed nobody know what mean and from where come from the notations on the supplies. Like 1/2 or 3/4. All they know is if is not the same will don't feet each other).
Doesn't meter what it writhe on them, the real size is in architectural system(to be politically correct).
For me it's not necessarily a problem but a logical explanation when something in meters wont feet in a house(room).
Also it explain me way there are so many decimals in place of a round number.
