I wouldn't trust this update. There was no announcement in the blog or forum about any update and I don't think only the Mac version will get an update and not the Windows/Linux versions, It would be a very bad move for Sweet Home 3D.

Don't trust email announcements. So far updates have always been on the forum and/or blog and always for all platforms.
