Your error report is quite hard to read the way you copied it into your message.
If you read this post , and share your error log through Mediafire, we can study the file more easily.

Like you, I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 and use SH3D without any problem.

The way I install SH3D is as follows:
- I download the program.
- Then I make a directory called home/username/SweetHome3D-3.0.
- I unpack the downloaded file to that directory.
- I give a right-click on the file SweetHome3D (771 bytes), choose Properties, and in the tab Permissions I make sure that Allow executing file as program is checked. Then click Close.
- Now, when I double-click the file SweetHome3D the program starts.

If this doesn't solve your problems, please give us some more information:
- Have you succesfully used SH3D on the same computer?
- If yes, which version of SH3D, and which operating system?
