To get more details about this error, run Sweet Home 3D from the command line with a command like: and post here the text of [font=courier new]log.txt[/font] when you try to save.

It all depends what you call an "official website"… As Sweet Home 3D installer isn’t available on sweethome3d.com, you’ll have to rely on an other source, and the version distributed under GNU GPL at sourceforge.net is free as stated in the FAQ.

Try the alternate SweetHome3D-Java3D-1_5_2 script provided with Linux installer.

I removed the posts reported by Keet (and I also remove some posts from time to time by myself).

Turning off Nahimic service generally fixes this issue.
