Re: Sketchup furniture objects frequently lose a lot of detail on import. Is that normal?

<t>I guess I'm rather tired (it's 2:42am here). I just looked a little closer and the model on the far left didn't import as cleanly as I had thought. All of these were in a single collection and imported at the same time. I would have expected that they all have the same level of quality. However ...

Re: Sketchup furniture objects frequently lose a lot of detail on import. Is that normal?

<r>Hello,<br/>
<br/>
In my last post, I mentioned that the import using the .dae format worked perfectly. I just didn't upload a new screen shot for it.<br/>
<br/>
Here is a screen shot showing the import from the .dae format. . .<br/>

<r>Thanks for the info about how Media Fire links work. <br/>
<br/>
Below is how I have the options selected. Previously, "Triangulate all faces" was NOT checked. I checked it but it didn't seem to make any difference.<br/>

Re: Sketchup furniture objects frequently lose a lot of detail on import. Is that normal?

I didn't know the forum would display my login name (which I chose to use my email address for). I had thought it would show my name. Now if I can only figure out how to get that fixed as well. . .

<r>Not sure why the image links didn't work. I right-clicked on them and chose 'view image' and it opened the link properly, so the path is correct.<br/>

Re: Sketchup furniture objects frequently lose a lot of detail on import. Is that normal?

<r>Hello,<br/>
<br/>
I downloaded a collection from the Sketchup Warehouse (I don't recall what the original name was).<br/>
I then opened up the collection in Sketchup (a demo of the current version).<br/>
I then went to 'File > Export > 3D Model' and on the subsequent screen I selected the obj ...

Sketchup furniture objects frequently lose a lot of detail on import. Is that normal?

<t>Hello,<br/>
<br/>
I have been going to town with Sweet Home 3d. It is an incredible app. After I figured out how to import stuff from SketchUp, it was even better.<br/>
<br/>
However, I have noticed that when I import objects from there, they frequently lose a lot of detail.<br/>

Is there ...

Re: How can I create a ramp?

Hello, I would suggest considering just using a wall, double clicking it and then choose the 'Sloping wall' option. Give it a thickness to represent the width of the ramp. Height start and end provide the slope desired. It worked out in a quick test I did.
