- Allow alternate color for furniture import
I would suggest implementing (as an option or as default) a checkerboard pattern as background. This would make any object stand out even if it has some special coloring.

You should try CTRL+TAB and CTRL+SHIFT+TAB instead.
At least for me it's working, albeit I'm under Linux, so it could be that this is an extra feature.
