I'd welcome your advice!

"make the top invisible"
- how do you do that? I don't see any options to change *part* of a furniture item.

"design the new top by drawing a room with a hole"
- how do you put a hole into the room?

"export-import it as furniture"

After more experience, I can now safely say that texturing a wall with a picture is *** VASTLY *** easier in SketchUp than in SweetHome3D. Improving that feature should be a high priority.

Another newbie question, please!

Is there a way to pin a "room" to the walls that originally defined it? When placing and moving furniture, it is WAY to easy to drag the room surface by accident, and it's murder to put it back where it belongs.

Suggestions?

I would like to take a photo of a wall (for example, with a bookcase with my familiar books on it), and then use that photo to paint that wall.

Is there a way to import a picture file, and "apply" it to a wall by snapping it to the wall's dimensions?
