rendering transparent
Designing a pool for my mom inlaw, i have come across something odd.
In 3d view i can adjust the water with "modify 3d view" "Walls transparency" And the transparency is fine.

But when i want to render it, its solid.

Is it me, or is there a bug in the program.

Thanks. :)

Neither, I suspect. The 3D view walls transparency does not actually make the walls transparent (walls cannot be transparent in SH3D), it is only a design tool to make it easier to see what you are doing (see recent blog: How to show interior parts hidden by walls).

Not sure what you (well, your mother in law) wish(es) to achieve, but you can import a box as a window and apply a transparent texture. See also thread 2954 with attachments.

ok

Re: rendering transparent
I just wanted to make the water of the swimming pool transparent.
I know there is a tutorial on this site about it, but I could not get it to work.

Was it the blog: How to design a swimming pool you could not get to work? If so, which part? ok

Maybe use a water texture...

Few weeks ago, I put a picture of a sink.
It's the same thing for a pool.

Yes that was the one.
For some reason the water (room) stayed opaque.
Only the walls got transparent when I moved the slider.
I tried a dozen times.

Re: rendering transparent
Use Modify rooms --> Display ceiling
When the ceiling disappears, you can see the "room"
