Good job puybaret!

Re: Roadmap
Thank you for launching this discussion about Sweet Home 3D roadmap.
I wanted to create a web page for it, but finally this forum is the easiest way.

Here's the features roadmap I've got in mind at this time:
- v 1.3 : creation and modification of home rooms, with textures applicable to room's floor and cellar
- v 1.4 : ergonomic stuff : automatic depth of windows and doors placed on walls, stick and orientate objects to the approach of a wall, better management of magnetism
- v 1.5 : management of lights
- v 2.+ : management of multiple floors, roofs, export to other formats...

v 1.3 shouldn't be available before February or March 2008 (I have to earn some money first ;-).

Re: Roadmap
Just this message to announce that probably, Sweet Home 3D v 1.3 won't be available before this summer, because I don't have enough free time right now to program more things that maintenance releases.

Re: Roadmap
Hello,

Just letting you know that I discovered your application just hours ago and like it very much. The features you name in later releases would make it much better (spec. floor and cellar textures). Keep up the good work (after earning a living of course ;-))

Greetings form the Netherlands,

Jeroen

Re: Roadmap
Hi there
I love your project and was wondering if there is any way of of making it
a web based application.

My idea is to offer our customers the facility to create their own floor
plans on-line.

Any information on this would be appreciated and if we could make this
happen then I would be happy to become a sponsor for your project.

Have a great day

Re: Roadmap
From the description of versions 1.3 and 1.4 at http://sweethome3d.sourceforge.net/history.html , you may guess that the roadmap proposed one year ago changed a little. ;-)

So, here's the new roadmap I've got in mind at this time:
- v 1.5 : creation and modification of home rooms (with textures applicable to room's floor and cellar), and creation of free text labels in the plan
- v 1.6 : ergonomic stuff : automatic depth of windows and doors placed on walls, stick and orientate objects to the approach of a wall
- v 1.7 : management of lights
- v 2.+ : management of multiple floors, roofs...

Meanwhile, I might also test an on-line applet version of Sweet Home 3D.

I prefer to promise no delivery date, but be reassured, I'm still spending a lot of time on Sweet Home 3D development.

Re: Roadmap
Bonjour monsieur Puybaret.

Cordialement

Re: Roadmap
Now that version 2.0 is out, here's a list of the main features that will probably appear in the 2.+ releases:

- Better furniture catalog pane for catalog containing many pieces
- New Display menu to let user choose which pane to display
- New wizard to create 3D models from pictures applied on the faces of a cube, sphere or cylinder
- Creation of videos from a virtual visit
- Improvement of lights management
- Management of levels
- Management of roofs
- Manage portability to simplify the moving of Sweet Home 3D
