I was trying 4.0 to see if it eliminated a problem I was having with importing furniture.
I tried the "copy furniture" plug in. It gave me an error saying "use installed version" .. so I had to go back to 3.7
Thanks .... Mike

Re: "gray block" problem when dropping in furnature .....
OK ... so I tried 4.0 ... still got the gray block.
I tried the "copy furniture" app ...... will not work with 4.0, said to use "insalled" version, not java version ... hmmmmm
OK, so I uninstalled 4.0 and installed 3.7
I installed the app.
I followed the directions exactly ..... it worked ...

Re: "gray block" problem when dropping in furnature .....
Installed 4.0 ..... still the same problem.
I must be missing something.
I made a wall. Gave it shingles on one side and a color on the other.
I exported it as an obj file.
I went into my house file.
I imported the roof ( wall section ) as furniture.

Re: "gray block" problem when dropping in furnature .....
Sorry, for some reason I didn't see your replay ( I must be getting old, looked for it and just didn't see it).
I will give this a try tonight!
Too many late nights I guess. I am living in VT in an RV (freezing) trying to build the house I designed on this program last summer.
It is surprising ...

Re: "gray block" problem when dropping in furnature .....
I should add the gray block is only at one end. If I copy and paste a this item then rotate it 180, the block is at the other end. It is only visible from "one side". In other words, if I have the same item, side by side and rotate one 180 degrees, I can see a gray block at the end of one roof ...

"gray block" problem when dropping in furnature .....
Hello,
This is the same problem I had last year ... still have not solved it. I am on a new project and want to see if I can figure it out this time.
I am working on putting a roof on a house ... well actually we are framing the house I designed, now onto the workshop.
Walls, no problem but the ...

roof has block at end of it
Hello,
I read the tutorial and was able to draw a building complete with a roof.
I created the roof in a separate window and then brought it in as furniture.
My problem is that at the end of the roof is a large gray square block.

Re: gray "block" when I drop in items .....
Awesome!
I will give this a try.
This program has been a life saver!
I am a mechanical designer and with the exception of some Solid Works projects I did for a group doing CNC 3 axis machining, my work is always done on AutoCad in 2D.

Hello,
I am having a funny problem.
Let me give two examples:
1) I draw a roof and export it as an OBJ file. I bring it in and place it on the house. In the 3D view the roof looks great but I see a gray block at the end. It is the size of the end view of the roof. I can not see through this block ...
