Re: SweetHome3d shut down after some seconds
I have exactly the same problem. A fresh installation of the software, no previous installations exist. The 512MB link worked well.
The log is as follows:
# # A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment: # # EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x69411bbe, pid=3388, tid=3496 # # JRE version: 6.0_14-b08 # Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (14.0-b16 mixed mode windows-x86 ) # Problematic frame: # C [atioglxx.dll+0x411bbe] # # If you would like to submit a bug report, please visit: # http://java.sun.com/webapps/bugreport/crash.jsp # The crash happened outside the Java Virtual Machine in native code. # See problematic frame for where to report the bug. #

Re: SweetHome3d shut down after some seconds
My problem is similiar to the following thread with the exception that i use linux. Kubuntu 10.04 LTS to be exact. I have an older version of SweetHome 3D running on another linux box and it runs fine. But this one the the program opens for maybe a second then closes. Why?!? I've updated my Java to Suns JRE 6 update 21. but still no SweetHome.
Thanks, D
When I start "SweetHome3D.exe". The SweetHome3D window is displayed some seconds and then is closed. Same problem with "SweetHome3D.jnlp".
But, strangely for me, if I use SweetHome3D-2.0.jar, the software is entirely usable !
First lines of Error files "hs_err_pidxxxx.log" :
- With "SweetHome3D.exe", : # # A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment: # # EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x6941084a, pid=4088, tid=4016 # # JRE version: 6.0_14-b08 # Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (14.0-b16 mixed mode windows-x86 ) # Problematic frame: # C [atioglxx.dll+0x41084a] #
- With "SweetHome3D.jnlp" : # # An unexpected error has been detected by Java Runtime Environment: # # EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x6941084a, pid=1792, tid=3524 # # Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (11.3-b02 mixed mode windows-x86) # Problematic frame: # C [atioglxx.dll+0x41084a] #
From which is coming this problem (also with 1.6, 1.7, 1.8) ?
Thanks.

Re: SweetHome3d shut down after some seconds
Daniel,
I'm not sure what all that text in the logs means as I'm not a computer expert. However, I use Ubuntu 10.04 and I don't have (m)any problems with SH3D.
From reading this forum I have noticed that many, MANY problems with SH3D are being caused by (incompatible) video drivers/cards. I notice in your log files the lines:
# Problematic frame: # C [atioglxx.dll+0x41084a]
which suggests there might be a problem with an ATI driver/card.
My suggestion would be to try to update your video drivers.

Re: SweetHome3d shut down after some seconds
My apologies. The quote that i inserted was not from my computer. That was from C_Valanc's post in '09. I haven't found any error log in kubuntu or for SH3D. It just simply closes after a second or so.
