Barcelona Pavilion - my graduation from high school is in danger
Hi all,
first of all a wonderful day and an even better start into the coming week.
My art teacher has requested me to design a visitor pavilion in reference to Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's Barcelona Pavilion. And whilst I am working with the full version of SH, I have trouble to design the chromed steel beams, for which van der Rohe became famous and which are indeed one of his signature looks. I know how to build the model, but I must visualize a walk through in SH as well. Could anybody help me? I need 12 of them for my draft - so this is really key, thank you very much for my help and excuse my English, I am from Germany.

Not being technical, I'm not sure I understand what is needed. In case you need a beam with a cross-section in the form of a "+" you could easily use two thin, elongated boxes to create a +-form. Make it light-gray and glossy, and you have a chrome crossbeam.
On page 16-17 there are some cross-shaped columns visible, maybe that's what you need? Same process. On page 20 I count 12 of those. So my guess is, you don't need beams, but columns.
Study how to make a video, and you know how to make your walkthrough.

Re: Barcelona Pavilion - my graduation from high school is in danger
Hi there - I had tried this with a wall and chose the texture Aluminum, then I had the colour grey and glossy and this simply does not work, as there are no corners in the original. My next try was with your suggested boxes, same result, it comes out like a cross. And the walk through does not work as I do not get it in Chrome. The original's beam has round corners. So both the round corners as well as the chrome finish are still a problem. Could you please help me out? My e-mail is [email protected] - I really apreciate your help.

Dear Hans,
Thank you so very much for your great help. I bought the full version of Sweet Home one year ago, do you have any idea how I can download the update? I do not want to loose the attributes of the full version but I trust, that the version in which you so generously created the beam has a better 3D visualisation.
