Re: Draw a wall that is not rectangular
For the first case, you could use walls which are not joined, or if you want to keep them joined, add a third small wall between the two main walls. For the second case, just use walls with different thicknesses. See attached example.

Re: Draw a wall that is not rectangular
How did you align them in the first case? By calculating their Y coordinate to be half the thickness difference? Or is there a way to align them in the UI?

Re: Draw a wall that is not rectangular
As side note, remember that the baseboards are placed only on the sides of the wall, not on the ends. So, if you need to place baseboards where the wall gets thinner it is better to create a "loop". it is a bit hard to explain in words, but very easy to understand looking at the following picture. On the left side you can see how it appears in the "traditional" way, on the right side using the "loop". Once deselected the loop gets hidden, so it resembles to a normal wall.

This "trick" is also very useful to force the end of a stand-alone wall to have a single texture. The end of the wall will display half of each texture used on the sides. No problem if you are using the same texture on both sides but in most cases you want different textures on each side.
To have a single texture on the end of a wall draw a loop (like an extended U) with a wall half as thick as the original. Make sure both legs of the U touch and the resulting double wall is just as thick as the single previous wall. You know have 3 sides you can give a texture, one of which is the end of the wall. (4 sides if you use the same trick at the other end of the wall.)
