Fix My Wonky Corners

Hi,

I have this wall intersection...

... and I want this:

Any ideas? Whenever I try to extend the big wall to make a proper corner with the small wall emerging from it it reverts back to pic1...

Join the two thicker walls and then touch the smaller wall to the others.
To make a correct corner you don't extend a wall but you join the two walls: select the two walls, right click for the context menu, choose "join walls".

Re: Fix My Wonky Corners

Hi, Thank you for your help but when I right click I get no option to 'jon' (I am using the OSX version of SH3D, tho). Is there a way to 'properly jon walls' using the menu? I've tried the Help and it doesn't... MW

Re: Fix My Wonky Corners

Make sure you have selected the two walls you want to connect , then right click for the context menu which should have the option 'Join walls'. My guess is that you didn't have two walls selected before the right click.

The two walls don't need to touch and can be some distance from each other. Sweethome3D will calculate the two nearest wall ends, extend the walls, and connect them into a corner. The walls don't need to be in a 90° angle. You can also connect walls to close a gap between walls.

Re: Fix My Wonky Corners

Are you sure that is a screenshot from Sweethome3D? Because it looks quite different from my install. What gave it aways is the "Make invisible" in the context menu. You can't make walls invisible in Sweethome3D. I don't think there is any context menu in Sweethome3D with "Make invisible". So I assume that is a context menu from a different program.

I also don't see that two walls are selected.
For your corner you should select the two thick walls to join (top left and vertical). In Sweethome3D of course.

Oops! Started with Sweethome and ended up with Live Home 3D. Sorry to have wasted your time...

Re: Fix My Wonky Corners

Ah, I thought so.
Nice program but totally useless for me since there's no Linux version and all my machines are Linux, even my phone is Linux laughing (not Android).
