Colour of user texture inaccurate

Hi
I am designing my bathroom and have found some tiles we really like.
I thought I would import a picture of the tiles, which is a pretty accurate image of the real thing, and use it as a 'User Texture'

All went well and I have my tile image imported and available as a user texture.

I have applied it to a few walls in my bathroom design and the colour of the tiles in SH3D is way off. I also rendered a 3D view as a photo to see if it was better in a hi res render, but no. The render is pretty much exactly the same as is shown in the 3D view when designing.

I can't see how to add an image attachment to my post to show you exactly what the difference is, but basically, the representation in SH3D is much darker.

Is there anything I can do to get a more accurate display of my texture?
Maybe it just isn't meant to be that accurate?

Thanks
Mark

Re: Colour of user texture inaccurate

You can adjust the brightness of the 3D view in its modification dialog box with 3D view > Modify 3D view menu item.
But the best solution is probably to brighten the image you imported as a texture.

Re: Colour of user texture inaccurate

It's not easy to faithfully display the texture of a floor or wall covering on a screen. I have 3 PCs at home and none of them displays my textures correctly.
But some time ago I invested in an external screen for my laptop. It's Pantone-certified and much more colorfast. With a few adjustments to my GeForce card and, of course, the deactivation of filters (blue, for example), I'm able to reproduce colors satisfactorily.
But despite this, I sometimes have to use Photoshop to improve and reproduce texture colors as faithfully as possible...
