Is there any other software apart from Misfit Model that allows you to add texture to a block then export to to Sweet Home, one that is abit easier to install??

Yes it maps one texture on all the object. Then you should use Art Of Illusion or Blender but I'm afraid it won't be as easy as in Sweet Home 3D.
