floating 3ds and color don't match when exporting
recently i download 3ds file from http://archive3d.net/ i don't know somehow some files that i downloaded and export to Sweet Home 3D it's floating.
is there any program to make it NOT float? or is it the bug on Sweet Home 3D? if someone need some sample files, let me know email me at [email protected]
and sometimes the 3ds file's color don't match when export tp sweet home 3d.

Your best guess is probably to import the models in Blender and find out if they are correct and, if not, correct them. You can then export them as a 3DS or OBJ model.
The reason for the strange behaviour is that there seem to exist several "dialects" in the way 3DS files are composed by different programs. The same problem exists with other file formats, like OBJ.

fhoofman, please try the Beta version version of Sweet Home 3D 2.4. I recently fixed a bug that should avoid some 3DS imported models from floating. I found also a discussion on the Internet about a working solution for some faulty 3DS files, but I didn't try it yet.

I'm using Sweet Home 3D 2.4beta, I have tried to export some 3ds files and it stop floating. i just want to ask, are you fixing the color as well? cause the color seem don't match. my source is http://archive3d.net thax

Not sure I can do better. Did you check the colors of the 3DS file in Blender?
