How to resize imported furniture while keeping aspect ratio?

I imported a piece of furniture which was created in Sketchup successfully.
But how do I resize it while keeping aspect ratio?
When I hover the mouse pointer at the bottom left I can see the resize icon which also works fine, but I want to resize the furniture while keeping its original proportions.
Is this possible in Sweethome3D?

Thanks,

Helma.

Re: How to resize imported furniture while keeping aspect ratio?

Hi Helma,

Welcome to the Sweet Home forum. smile

The easiest way (if you already know the dimensions required) is to enter either a height, depth or width while importing the furniture, entering any value in this section will change all other values proportionally.

Enter either a height, depth or width

Once the furniture or model is already imported, use the Modify furniture editor but you will need to work out what values to enter in each box, to keep the correct object proportions. (I have requested a Constrain Proportions tick box for the modify furniture window but until then use the methods above)

Or

Just thought of another idea!

Another way is to use the new Furniture Library Editor version 1.0 tool (no install needed, just double click to run) import your model, set the size you want, then save and import into Sweet Home.

Re: How to resize imported furniture while keeping aspect ratio?

Helma, db4tech:

There is a 4th way to modify your model after importing that works on models that have been imported separately using the function Furniture --> Import furniture. You can recognize these models because in the model list (top-left window) their name is in italics.

Choose the model to modify, right-click it and a window opens that offers 5 options: Copy, Delete, Add to home, Modify furniture and Import furniture. Choose Modify furniture and proceed as in the first method db4tech described.
