Re: AdancedRenderingMini-1.6.sh3p
Hi fhoofman,
The same thing will happen with both the full size version and the mini version (only the interface has been changed)
For now, one way to overcome the white spots or speckles is to add a Sky texture: to your scene (any will do!) then make sure you click the 'Add sunlight' ('Sunlight' on the mini version) to make sure your render doesn't look too dark.
Because of how things are setup within the plugin, adding a sky texture, should also provide a slightly faster render.
I guess the uber shader (Silk setting) requires further tweaking, I think I know what's causing the problem.
Thank you for your feedback!

I think at least the option to select "silk" or "glossy" shader for HQ renders should return to the photo creation tool, so you can select the one more suitable for the scene without modify the .ini file each time you want to test.

Yes, I know, but that is not the only difference between Q3 and Q4, is it?
If it's the only difference then you only need to choose Q3 or Q4, bit if there are more differences then it would be good to have the choice to select "glossy" or "silk" independently for both Q3 and Q4.

Re: AdancedRenderingMini-1.6.sh3p
Here I show 3 renders of the same scene.
This one is Q4 default (that's silk):
This one is Q4 with glossy (instead silk):
And this one is Q3 default (that's glossy):
As can be seen, in the Q4 glossy version the annoyng bright dots of Q4/default are gone, but you cannot just switch to Q3 to get glossy, as there is a big difference between Q3 and Q4 glossy renders as you can see.
By the way the second picture suffers from the "black squares" problem, but as long as there are not many of them they can be easily fixed editing the final rendered image.

The differences between the two quality levels are all defined in the PhotoRenderer.properties file, where you'll see that anti aliasing min and max are different for the two quality levels.
