At the top-right of the screen is a field where it says "Search...". If you type the word "roof" there, you get 54 hits. Read a few of them, and you'll find your answer. You may also want to visit the 3D models page. Who knows, you'll find something useful. If not, you might try to search for "roadmap", which also gives interesting info. Then, of course, there is the Sketchup Warehouse, where you can find many roofs. Especially this model looks promising, once you dissect it.
Now, without answering your question, I hope I answered it to your satisfaction. Oh yes, one more thing, just out of curiosity: Did you read the manual and tutorials?
