Furnitures turn out white colour after selected or imported in the library - HELP
Hi Sweet Home,
I found out about this software 4 days ago and I like it so much. I started learning how to use it day by day. My concern for now is that whenever I select or import a piece of furnitures from outsources, the original colour turns out white. Some feedbacks to solve this issue would be thankful.

You probably tried to import 3D models that don't define colors. You should try to load models from the web sites that have more stars in the given list on this site.

I did, those are the website where I selected the furniture. Even some pieces of furniture listed on the sweet home online website still turned out white colour, not all but 80%. I even tried to update all plug-ins and double check but it still the same pro. Thx for ur feedback.

Anne,
I have noticed this behaviour too, especially when trying to import 3ds models. Probably there are several "dialects" in the "3ds language", some of which aren't correctly translated when importing the model into SH3D.
There may be a solution for your problem: import these 3ds models into Blender, then from Blender export them in OBJ format. You may have to experiment a bit with the export settings: there are quite a few options, and I'm not a Blender specialist.

Hi Hans,
Thx for your reply. I played around how to import 3Ds pieces in the Blender ( I never use Blender before ) as you recommend and I was unsuccessful on how to use it properly. Can you explain more detail on how to do this.
I import a piece of furnitures in sweet home ptogram. Some turn all white or all grey but some still have colours but the colours are different from the original. After trying different ways, I came up that if this happened with that pieces. then I have to ignore using it and find others.

Anne,
Scroll down on the Blender homepage and you will see links to manual and tutorial.
A good source for models is the Google Sketchup Warehouse. Models in the DAE/Collada format can be directly imported into SH3D. Other models can be loaded in Sketchup and then exported as a DAE file.

Thx Hans,
It worked when I put the furniture through sketchup, then used it in SH3D.
Another issue came up when I tried to record a video. The CREATE button for creating a VIDEO did not work. To say in another way, it is just an image but not the button that I can press on. The CREATE button for taking a PICTURE worked fine but not the VIDEO. Please help me with this!

Hi Emmanuel again,
I have tried to install SH3D and all plug-ins on 2 computers and happened the same in my case. I took time to go over the instructions provided in SH3D website and forums but nothing is similar to my case.
