Re: Stupid newbie question

Maybe an Import texture menu item is missing somewhere, but how could you conclude then that Import furniture menu item would do the same???
To import a texture you have to click on the Import button that appears in any texture modification dialog box. You can also drag and drop the image file in the texture preview of this dialog box.

Okay, so if I click on modify furniture, then click on texture, then select import, I can import the jpeg of the bamboo shades. Now if I draw a wall, place a window in it, then select texture, and choose the bamboo shade, it does not cover the window, just the frame of the window. How do I get the bamboo shade to cover my window?

Thanks

Re: Stupid newbie question

Most windows in SH3D are formed as having two materials: the window frame and the glass pane. When you apply a colour or texture, it's applied only to the window frame.

When you want to hang shades or blinds, you should apply your texture to a thin box that has the correct width and height to cover the window. Give the box the correct elevation, and place it in front of the window.
