Ceiling with different levels

Hi, Is there a way of handling a ceiling that has heating ducts running under it? In this case, my basement has 1/3 of the height lower than the rest to accommodate the drop. If I set the walls at each end to the correct heights (splitting) I seem to confuse everything. I get sloping ceilings but of course I need squared surfaces.

i.e. -----|_____|----- if that makes sense.

Any ideas?

Martin

Re: Ceiling with different levels

Martin,

There is a quick and easy way:
- Take a box, give it the right dimensions, and place it underneath the ceiling.

If you want a "real" ceiling to behave in such a way, you have to do a lot of work using
- a - extra walls, made invisible by using transparent textures (gives a bad result) or better
- b - the construction method for multiple level houses (PDF)
