Importing Furniture
Hi again...
I see no option on Importing Furniture when i am working on my house. How do I import the specific furniture like i could before i signed up? It won't let me import anything but textures, colors, etc....

Re: Importing Furniture
Kayla,
Have you thought of reading the User's guide? (Link at top right of this window) Have you looked at the Video tutorial? (Link at...) Have you studied the Documentation page? (Should I still explain where the link is?) The 3D models page? (Or have you found it?)
Or do you prefer to ask each and every question here on the forum? And then send a repeat of the same question as a Private Message?

Re: Importing Furniture
Hans,
Did you ever realize how rude you are being? I couldn't find any links. Neither could I find a video tutorial. Just because you are an "Expert" doesn't mean you can talk to me like I'm stupid. You should be supportive when somebody asks you a question, as that does show respect because they believe you have the answer. Please think about that before you say something like that to me.

Re: Importing Furniture
Kayla,
Yes, I did, and I do. My answer wasn't intended to be the friendliest I've ever given. I'm a user of this program, just like a few hundred thousand others who come here every month. I dedicate part of my spare time to help users of this wonderful program. Especially if they have a real problem.
To show good will, here's some further assistance, that apparently your "exhaustive" searches didn't turn up. But please, don't look at the top left of this page, because that would spoil all the "expert advice" you're about to receive. - Documentation, which points at several help sources and is the source of at least 4 tutorials - User's guide, which is a rather exhaustive introduction that teaches you the basics of SH3D, and is the source where most of your questions would have been answered - Video tutorial, which.... well, this speaks for itself, doesn't it? - 3D models, the page where is explained where you can find 3D models. I do realize that you have to scroll all the way down to find the link to the Sketchup Warehouse and the links to 13 other sources.
So who's accusing who of rudeness? Did you in fact visit all those pages I mentioned in my previous post, links that are so readily available?
Have a nice weekend.

Re: Importing Furniture
Hans,
I did look at all the links. None of them helped me; they are for the SH3D DOWNLOAD version, not online version. I am not able to download SH3D to my computer, so I have to do the online version. When I was looking at all of the links, AND on Google, Yahoo, and Ask, they are all applied to the Download version.... Not helping me.
So you see, I did have a reason to ask on this forum. Please, if you could just explain to me why I cannot import furniture, that is all I originally asked for.

Re: Importing Furniture
Kayla,
Maybe you should have started your questions telling that you were talking about the online version. It would have saved a lot of trouble and aggravation. I checked all your messages, and the word online doesn't appear in them. And no, I don't think you're stupid: your English is far too good for a 12 year old, unless you're a prodigy.
The online version is somewhat limited in comparison to the installed version. You cannot import furniture, you cannot export to OBJ format, etc.
There may be another solution to all your questions, though. If you google a bit, you may find a portable version of SH3D. It should fit on a USB-drive, meaning you can take it with you and use it on whatever computer is available to you. Right now I don't have the time to search for it, but I seem to remember having seen a portable version based on SH3D 3.0. That would give you almost all of the new features. One thing: I'm not sure whether the portable version(s) support plug-ins.

Re: Importing Furniture
Guys, let's keep this forum cool and nice!
The online version does support 3D models import, PDF/SVG/OBJ export, and almost all the features of the downloadable version. Just sign in and explore contextual menus to use these features. One key difference between the online and the other version is that furniture imported in the catalog won't be saved from one session to the other, whereas imported furniture added to the plan will be saved (in the limit of a 2 MB file in the current version).

Re: Importing Furniture
Okay, thanks to both of you!
Hans, sorry about my attitude. I've been having a real life issue lately that has been causing me to act a lot different then normal. Again, I apologize. And I am 12. I type like this because I was taught how to type at 7 years old, and I'm an AG student so I'm very well with my grammar. I'm going into 7th grade in a few days, as I am underage compared to the rest of the students. I barely passed the birthday limit.
Anyway, I'm sorry I forgot to mention the whole Online thing. And again, I'm very sorry for aggravating you. Thank you so much for the info that you gave me, though. And Puybaret, thanks also for the info you gave me.
