Can I amend a SH3f File?
Have just started using SH3 to help a local sports club design a new layout for its' facility, and must say it is brilliant.
However I am using a free equipment library issued by a sports equipment company, and it is missing a couple of pieces of equipment, that the company don't want to add as they are not "currently supplied", but are almost identical to one of the pieces that is included.
The SH3F file opens with 7Zip and it looks the missing equipment just needs minor changes to the PNG and adding with new names (dimensions are the same as the existing equipment).
However there are also OBJ files I know nothing about!

Re: Can I amend a SH3f File?
Roger,
You can edit .sh3f files using the Library Editor, a stand-alone program that allows you to, well, edit libraries. Read the tutorial on plug-ins and extensions (PDF) to learn more. The Library Editor cannot edit models, only libraries.
Models are defined in .obj and .mtl files, "simple" text files that describe the form of an object (.obj) or the materials that it consists of (.mtl). Additionally you may find image files (.jpg, .png. etc) linked to the .mtl file: these are the textures used in the model. To edit such a file you need a different type of program, such as Blender, Art of Illusion, or Misfit Model 3D.
The images that SH3D displays in the furniture list are a result of the 3D properties of the model, and are generated within the program. Nevertheless, it is possible to change these icon-like .png images. Using an archive manager you can inspect the .zip file and replace the images. Note that this does NOT change the model itself.
