Re: 3D Models - Need Help!

Vako,

There are a few known problems with importing furniture.

Furniture in DAE (or ZIP) format, taken from the Sketchup Warehouse store their textures in a separate directory. When you change the directory for the furniture, you should also move the directory with the textures to the same place, otherwise the model will appear gray because the textures cannot be found.

Models in 3DS format may suffer also from being gray. Here the solution is not so simple. Sometimes it helps to import and export the model using Blender.

When models appear as a dot, they are probably too small. This is caused by a difference in measure system. If created in millimeters and imported in meters, your models will appear like little dots. The solution is too multiply the size with 1000 during importation. Inches and centimeters means that you should multiply with 2.54.

I hope this solves the problem. If not, share a model that gives you problems, so that we can have a look at it.

I'm not sure I understand your problem with textures. Can you explain better, or email me texture that is causing you problems?

Re: 3D Models - Need Help!

Vako,

If you give the link to the original location of the model you are trying to import, I will look at it, and see what happens.

Without seeing the original image of the texture itself, I cannot see whether or not it looks normal. However... what I see is a plain brown floor. Maybe you forgot to change the size of the texture while importing it?

Re: 3D Models - Need Help!

Vako,

The Polantis-webiste provides free models without textures. They are all gray.
Maybe there is a paid section where they have models with textures (and colour).

Re: 3D Models - Need Help!

Vako,

Look at the column at the left hand side of this screen.
Can you spot where it says 3D Models ?
Why do you think that link is there? And where would it point to?
