Re: Import
Wow... some community they have here. This post has been here for nearly 2 month with no reply.
paulo973, I hope you haven't given up yet and figured out how to import and use textures. I had the same question you had but, it looks like there is not much community support for the software on this forum.... yet. Here is a pretty good guide I found on the website: http://www.sweethome3d.com/personalizedTexturesGuide.pdf Even though it looses a little in the French to English translation it helped me figure out how to copy a jpg picture from the web and import it into the floor plan but, I can't seem to place it where I want it but, I'm on the verge of figuring it out. I'm currently working on floor and ceiling textures for a living area that I'm going to remodel. If I figure it out I'll let you know.
As for you "Sweet Home 3D Guru's", shame on you for not helping!

Re: Import
Nu, I don't see why the volunteers who contribute to this forum should be ashamed. So please, keep a good mood and wish everybody an happy new year instead of blaming contributors.

Re: Import
Stanislav,
You should export each component individually, as follows: - select one component - export it using 3D view --> Export to OBJ format - give it a name - choose Export selection
You can then choose to individually import each model, or make a library file using the Library editor. Once you have imported the individual components, you can use them as standard parts to build other models.

Re: Import
Hans, StNff imported only one .3DS model as the furniture list shows.
StNff, sorry but the 3DS support isn't perfect as explained in the FAQ. From the author of the library which brings 3DS support to Java 3D, it's most of the time due to issues in the 3DS files themselves and you can check the problem by trying to import your file in Blender too. If ever importing a 3DS file works better in Blender than in Sweet Home 3D, export it from Blender at OBJ format and import that OBJ file in Sweet Home 3D. Otherwise, it should be easier to avoid 3DS file format and export your original 3D model at DAE or OBJ format.

Re: Import
Thank you! Advice please. 1. How should I separate the elements of models in Blender (OBJ files) to be able to assign a texture built-SH3D? 2. How to implement the ability to change the color of facade elements (grouped). 3. How can I add to the price list of parameters (name, width, depth, height, visibility).
