Replacing one design with another

I have 40+ old windows of identical size in current plan.

The windows are old and should possibly be changed throughout the building. Now I wish to test how the building will look with various new design windows (with or without mullions/transoms).

Can I replace the old window object once with a new widow object instead of manually inserting each new window?

If not possible from within the program, can I cheat by changing the object (window) in the sh3d file?

I guess I could cheat by applying a texture to the windows, but that sort of isn't the same and wouldn't give the depth.

ok

Sorry, you can't.

Yes if you keep the same name for it in the sh3d file, but it might not be easy to find the right file, according to the window you use. Be sure to create a backup, before changing anything in the sh3d file.

Re: Replacing one design with another

Thanks. Happy I didn't miss an obvious function. Maybe a feature worth considering (?).

Finding the file-in-file is tricky, but now I know it's possible. 40+ windows manually is a good incentive...
