Is it possible to change the transparency of the ground so that one could see the profile of the basement from looking at the side of the house? I found somewhat of a work around by changing the transparency of the walls but it's not ideal.. Thanks!

From version 4.4, you can use a half (or fully) transparent texture for the ground, like this half grey one.
