confused Merging 2 Sweet Home 3d Projects

I spent a lot of time designing a home, but the plans changed dramatically along the way so I started a 2nd home. Now that i'm several hours into it I'm starting to realize it would be nice to just drag and drop pieces of the other project into this one. Is there a way to add my old project to the new one so they would be side by side allowing me to move furniture and even parts of the building from the old house design to the new one?

Thanks,

Re: Merging 2 Sweet Home 3d Projects

If you open both files, you can copy one or several (selected) items from one project to the other, or did I misunderstand your question?

This at least is fairly easy for single level projects. If you want to copy walls and doors, you should probably take care to select all the windows and doors together with the wall, copy together. That way they stick together when you have pasted them into the other plan and can be placed easily together (your paste will be in the same position as they were in the original plan).

If you have several different levels and very many items, you need to put some thought into getting it right.

Thank you. I had tried that already, but I had an item selected in the destination project so paste wasn't a clickable option. I just had to click in the empty space then paste and viola.
