Solid shape imported from GoogleSketchUp is not shown as expected

Hello,

I made a house.sh3d model and the roof was imported from a GoogleSketchUp model.

However, when in SweetHome3D, the roof is not shown as expected because one can't see it's all sides but only the opposite sides from the view point. It is shown like the slooping ceiling.

So if I rotate the house in 3D view I can see only the opposite sides of roof.

How can I solve this problem?

Regards, from Pál

Did you try to select the Invert back and front faces check box at the second step of Furniture import wizard?

No, I did not. But right now I can't to try it out, because the roof DAE / Collada model is not here on my computer. Soon as I have it I shall try it out. Thanks!

Even a better solution:
- when exporting from Sketchup, select Options
- make sure that Two Faces is checked (not sure how it's called exactly)
- then export as DAE

Do this with all models you export from Sketchup.
SH3D sometimes has difficulty showing the correct face, resulting in the kind of probem you have.

On a related note, if you have made your own roof (or edit one), you should make sure you apply the same texture to both sides of the roof surfaces. If not you risk that the other side bleeds through when rendering. ok
