Greating a soffit?

I'm trying to create an accurate model of my home theater, and in the room there is a soffit or area where the ceiling is lower where I have a speaker attached. I have played around for an hour or so and can't seem to find a way to create this in the program.
Anyone have any suggestions? Right now I just have a speaker floating in the air, but it would be nice to have it look 'realistic".

Thank you!

Re: Greating a soffit?

If you want to be elaborate, see the blog: How to design a mezzanine. But isn't it easier just to place a box under the ceiling? See also SF 3D models 332 uses a larger box for a starlit ceiling (starlit_ceiling.sh3d).

ok
