I am trying to create a room with a sloping ceiling. I succeeded in creating the sloping ceiling, but because the room has a sleeping loft I am creating it with 2 floors. I created the first floor with a room for the sloping ceiling, one for the loft and one for the room itself for the flooring. After that when I add the second floor the sloping ceiling isn't sloping anymore, but flips up horizontally. Is there something I can do to keep the ceiling sloping? Or can I create the loft in another way?

Re: Sloping ceiling over 2 floors possible?
You may want to share a plan to illustrate your question, but from what you say, it sounds as if you may have to use another set of sloping walls on the second level. However, ceilings can be a bit tricky with sloping walls, so it is usually easier and beter to disable ceilings under sloping walls and use a roof with an underside to see the ceiling (putting the roof/ceiling on a separate level makes it easy to toggle visibility of ceiling/roof).

Re: Sloping ceiling over 2 floors possible?
Here is my plan for the first floor. I will look at how to add a roof, but what I quickly saw yesterday is that it is not that easy.
Adding a roof/ceiling is not really that hard. How hard depends a bit on your need for accuracy in terms of roof/wall thickness. If measurements of walls/roof do not have to be 100% accurate, you can use one of the roof models from the free 3D models page, in Sourceforge or elsewere. Just scale a sloping model and a flat model, and you should have a basic ceiling/roof.
If, however, you need the measurements to be just right, you should create your own. If you read the sloping ceiling guide in the blog (just forget about the window if you do not need it), it should not take you very long to get it right. Good luck.
ok
PS - BTW - creating a custom roof with modelling software or the Generate 3D shape plugin , is also relatively easy, but probably a bit more work (learning) than with just the approaches mentioned above.
I added a roof, but now I do not see the second floor from the first floor when I look up. I do however see the first floor from the second floor when looking down
You wrote put the floor on a separate level. What do you mean by that?

Sorry, but I must be a bit slow today. I cannot understand what you mean without a model Just in case, you are aware of 3D view - Display all levels / Display Selected level?
Thank you very much okh! I missed that option. Maybe because I am working with a different language. Now it works as expected. Now I just need to tweak the roof a bit to get rid of the beams.
