Damn that is a shame, got an ATI card too and was thinking of getting a 2nd to really push the boundaries.

Loving this product and would be genius if it did start to use the GPUs more.

GPU for better rednering

Hi all, been out of rendering for a few months due to work. treated myself to a Radeon HD 3890.

Fire up AMD system monitor and then kicked off a render, CPU maxed out, GPU 0%.

I was hoping that the GPU would make a difference and the SH3D was optimised to use all hardware. Am I missing something ...

Ah I did move between version on this file. I will delete and recreate all the lights and see if that helps. If part of the scene is not lit at all would the other lights still cause an issue ?

Good point Hans, I was using the train of thought of not removing any detail I had and using the high res imaged. Will retry.

Hi back again as unable to render again getting the red cross. No trees, few more objects in there and was rendering find last night. Have removed the paintings I had made as I thought the high res jpeg textures might have caused it to no avail.
I have tried rendering just a close up of the floor ...

Hi sorry for the thread hijack. I am running in to problems with my photos I have made into paintings on the wall ? I have found that those taken from gifs are okay but when the jpg resolution is high 2000+ * 2000+ pixels I am unable to render. I get the dreaded red x, memory issue ?

Agreed I do have a few machines running at all time with low utilisation that could have a client loaded on them a la SETI at home :)
