If you've been using kitchen design software for 20 years, it might be best to stick to that software. It's probably better geared towards that specific task than SH3D.


Changed jobs... no longer have access to 20/20 Design. Only do a handful of kitchens now rather than hundreds of them.

Thank you. SH3D is an amazing product. Using it as a design tool, I don't normally do all the fine tweaking that most use SH3D for. Usually no faucets, countertop appliances, etc. Time is money, and we just need to get the cabinet sizes and the broad strokes correct. [:D]

I use the cabinet files in Sketchup for my cabinets. I load the software, go to the import section and search the Kraftmaid catalogs. I load the cabinet I need into Sketchup, do any necessary dynamic modifications, and export it as a KMZ file and then import it into SW3D.

That is a pretty brief ...

I have done countertops with boxes made 1 1/2" high and 25" deep. Trying to wrap my head around your technique. What are you applying the color/texture to? The walls? The floor? Why rotate 90º?

I think my brain is too stuck in actual kitchen design software to visualize your technique. Comes from ...

I would also like a 2d elevation view. My most common use the SH3D is kitchen cabinet design and layout. A 2D elevation of each wall would be immensely useful to an installer.
