Can a generated 3D shape be saved as a furniture item for future use?
I have generated a 3D shape using the SH3D plugin and I would like to use it in the future. Is there a way I can save it as a furniture item in the catalogue? [:-/]

Re: .3DS and .gsm files download separately. How do I install?
<t>Hi Puybaret,<br/>
So do you mean convert the contents of the gsm folder to jpeg and then edit the materials of the imported 3DS file, applying each jpeg on its relevant part as a texture, once I have placed it in my project? I would have to do this every time, yes? Or is there a way to save an ...

.3DS and .gsm files download separately. How do I install?
<r>Often when I download a 3D model online, the .3DS or .obj file has a separate .gsm file supplied with it in a zip file. How to I merge the .gsm file and .3DS/obj file when importing into SH3D so the imported object displays properly with colours and features, etc? I usually just get a blobby ...

Re: Importing textures/materials with downloaded 3D objects
<r>Thank you Emmanuel. Alax's solution seems to have done the trick. These files are always 3DS files. <URL url="http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=75658906566947418929"><s></s>Here<e></e></URL> is the original zip file I ...

Re: Importing textures/materials with downloaded 3D objects
Thank you Alax! I had tried to do this in the past but found that the entire project exported. I see now that the default button selected is not the one I am looking for. I just tried it out with one such file and it seems to have worked quite flawlessly.

Re: Importing textures/materials with downloaded 3D objects
<t>Thanks Gildaniel, I was afraid the answer would be something like this. I've never used Collada or SketchUp and the 3DS files are nothing like Revit families which I am familiar with. <br/>
I know the answer to this is very subjective, but are they difficult programs to grasp?<br/>
Thanks.<br ...

Importing textures/materials with downloaded 3D objects
<t>Sometimes I download 3D objects (this is almost always people) and they are all white when I import them, but they have an image file which downloads with them which is basically a texture/"skin" for the object.<br/>

Mirroring walls
<t>Hi, I have a large amount of walls which are joined at unusual angles, and I would like to copy and paste them, but in mirrored orientation (for the other side of a building) but there is no <- to grab to turn them around. Is there an easy way to do this, or do I just have to reproduce each one ...
