Can a generated 3D shape be saved as a furniture item for future use?

I have generated a 3D shape using the SH3D plugin and I would like to use it in the future. Is there a way I can save it as a furniture item in the catalogue? [:-/]

You could export it to OBJ format and reimport the exported file as a new piece of furniture.
