proportional measurements to prepare self texture

Post by sree »

hello,
am planning to use different wall tiles and floor tiles to design wash room n kitchen.
as per the tutorial we have to make customised textures in power point. can anyone give me an idea how to prepare tiles and the box.

n what are the proportional sizes i should take in powerpoint.

Depending on what you are used to, you can also use any simple drawing software to create your tiles in jpg, gif or png. Like Paint or whatever. If the same tile should cover the entire surface, Just draw a box with the same proportions as your tile adding an edge to represent the grout / mortar. When importing to SH3D, set the size of the tile (actually, you set the area that your image should cover). The image file itself could and should be kept relatively small, 64 pixels wide will do just fine for most tiles.

Personally, I would prefer the GIMP (free) which is advanced software where you can add shades (blend/gradient tool), tile your design to make different shades to each tile, etc.

However, very simple tools will get you a long way in designing tiles.
