One more thought. I agree totally about simplicity. All good software is simple. To work properly and consistently, it has to be simple. The complexity is between the ears of the developer. KISS. Keep it simple, stupid.

Can I have the source code of the final version of skirt plugin? It seems interesting to learn how it was implemented.

For your information, skirting / baseboards are now available directly in Sweet Home 3D from version 5.0.
