Roof models

It would be good to have more models of roofs: hipped, plain gable-end, and a choice of slates, tiles, and maybe even thatch!

Yes, I would agree. But, there are ever so many combinations possible. Many prefer to make their own. You may want to check out hansmex' tutorial (PDF) and arun's tutorial.
