Simple steps

I need to add just a few simple steps and I can't find an object to do it with...all the objects are stair cases.

Is there a simple way to make just 2 or 3 steps from the ground to a porch?

Define simple... [:)] You could first check out whether there are online models that can fit - in the 3D warehouse I am sure you can find a wide range with and without railings, try searching for stairs or steps or something.

If you just want very simple steps, you could use boxes to create something.

If you want to be slightly more advanced, draw the stairs as walls in SH3D in the correct shape - select and export the walls, and import them (rotating from vertical to horizontal). This and a few other approaches to creating stairs with SH3D alone is described (with more elaboration) in Arun's excellent mini-tutorial in thread 5158.

I have not been into that 3D warehouse before....my whole world is opening up now!!

Yup - whatever you might want to say about Trimble (and Google) - the selection is good. Beware of messy models, and remember to download as .kmz / .dae for SH3D import.
