Some plug-ins might be incompatible with the version of Sweet Home 3D or Java you use. What versions of Sweet Home 3D and Java do you use?

I'm using Sweet Home 3d Version 5.2a Java version 1.8.0_91

Could this be related to Win10 / some browsers renaming the .sh3p to .zip? If so - take the original file you download again, do not unzip it - rename it from xxx.zip (back) to xxx.sh3p and place it in the plugin directory and restart SH3D. ok
