more zoom

Dear all

I did a really big house, with the garden and so on...I want to do some rendering in detailed views but the zoom is limited to the entire model. So i cannot zoom the details.
I tried even put the virtual view but the rendering is not so good like the standard 3d view.
Is there a way to have much more zoom?

PS: by the way, which alternative software free are available for rendering?

Select your detail (window, door, plant) on the floor plan and you can zoom much closer.

UbuntuBirdy, you forgot to mention that your tip works only if you selected the Aerial view centered in selection option in preferences pane.

You're right, I forgot that... for me this is standard setting, I never use another option.
