SOLVED - Ubuntu problems with Intel graphic card(s)

A few months ago I reported a graphic problem using Ubuntu 9.04. After upgrading to Sweethome3D 2.0 the problems got worse, and I couldn't use SH3D anymore.

Meanwhile I found out a bit more about "my" problem: it appeared that my Intel 945 graphic card (driver) was causing the problem. I also had problems using Autopano Pro, a photo stitching program.

Today I upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala. I immediately downloaded SH3d and HURRAY it now works as intended.
