Has anyone made a BBQ Smoker?

I need to depict an 8 foot long, mobile, tubular BBQ smoker. I planned to start by finding a propane gas cylinder, turning it onto it's side and place it onto a trailer - but I cannot find a gas cylinder. Anyone have any other suggestions?
