3D View Only for sh3d files

Disclaimer: I'm not an experienced Java programmer.

My goal is to produce a 3D viewer application for sh3d files generated with SH3D.

1) Provides read only functions
2) 3D display only
3) Simplified GUI
4) Allow multiple views of the same sh3d file (open the file multiple times)


I'm interested in any thoughts on how to go about doing this.


I've started working with the source for version 1.5.1 and it looks like what I want to accomplish can be implemented by modifications to HomePane.java.

I believe this could be a really nice thing, but atm with a max size of 16mb it is totally unusable. At least for me...
I'm looking forward for a version with a much higher size limit.

Since i cannot read this writing this online viewer is also unusable for me... [:-/]
And I'm not a the one who has hundreds of links for every eventuality... I like to have as much options as possible on one site. For this reason the online viewer on this site would be very cool.

But as I wrote before, it's only an issue for me. Perhaps I'm the only stupid one to create this damn big projects...

And if I have some time left, I can create my own online viewer on my webspace. So the size limit of the viewer here can remain for the given reasons.
