So why not set your preferences to the imperial system for this project? You can use the current project of the Old Building and everything will be displayed in imperial. That way you don't have to measure and calculate, Sweet Home 3D does that for you.

When you're finished and need the metric representation change the preference back to metric and you get the metric numbers for the exact same project. Could be some strange numbers but that's what you get when you have to convert from one to the other, no way around that.

What about to build a furniture that would be a rule with both centimetres and imperials ? I thought about such a tool to measure angles of roof.
