Continuing the YAUP series I made this Stair builder v.1.0 beta1 .
I've modify and improve (I think) the plugin previously made by Emmanuel.
I don't know if it's right or wrong in terms of licenses, but I did it for my personal use and some friends.
Basically, I modified the existing ones and added about 500 lines.
1. I've add poly lines for 2D representation (edges and direction)
2. After three months of study I tried to implement some international requirements in this field.
I also tried to be self-explanatory, but this cannot replace user knowledge.

Great additions Dorin! The added polylines for the 2D view make it clear which part starts at the bottom and which part ends at the top.
Personally I don't use the staircase generator much because I custom create all my staircases. I mainly use it to calculate the dimensions [:))]

The one thing that I think it needs most is a way to vary the post/baluster/handrail types. You can create a dozen different staircases but they will still all look more or less the same because all balusters, posts, and handrails are the same. I'm not sure if this is difficult or even possible.

Fantastic! When I recently modelled my home I missed such a tool very much for the helical stairs with rectangular outlines. I will add them as soon as my shelves are done.

The Staircase Generator plugin was created and introduced on December 13, 2022 by Emmanuel Puybaret, so it's been around for a while. Dorin is adding some extra features. That's the beauty of open source software!

StairBuilder v.1.0 beta2

* Stair builder-1.0 beta2 news:
-add a CHANGELOG.TXT
-fix the bug created by me on the cut out shape for round spiral stairs
-fix a bug in information label for tread width when other option than Square Spiral are selected
-have adjusted some translations accordingly with sjb007 & Keet's suggestions
-set the author name to "anonymous" until will be a dedicated text field for this.

TODO (or at least what I intend to do):
-to implement somehow a customizable cut-out-shape in respect of minim headroom requirement.
-to add somewhere a picture with the specific terms used on stairs.
I intend to change again the names accordingly to this.
Like:
-"Riser" in place of "Last step elevation"
-"Run" in place of "Tread depth"
-"Rise" in place of "Tread height"
-"Nosing" in place of "Tread offset" etc.
But I have to explain somehow to the users who know nothing about that terms.

@Keet Almost everything it is possible but not all are easy.
All components of this stair are generated by extrusion.
I don't have enough knowledge about 3D object manipulation so, you will have to wait until I will learn.

Dorin is adding some extra features. That's the beauty of open source software!

Indeed it is. Plus some more advantages. I wish I could clone several instances of myself, like in a parametric CAD system. One of them would learn python, one java and together they would support a third one in collaborating with dorin on 3D geometry, using the guts of FreeCAD as a quarry.

To name the parts of my custom staircases I did a search for "staircase parts diagram". Many results with excellent examples.
Use one of the search results as an example to add names to an image of a generated staircase. Don't use one of the images you find, they might be copyrighted. Display it under a button or in the manual.

Of course I will need and thanks for your willing.
At this moment is not established the English part as nor for any other languages.
I hope will be sometime in the future.

You're right about images and the probably copyrights.
Anyway my needed image is not invented yet so, as in linux philosophy, I'll drawn myself.
Probably I will use numbers in place of terms and the same numbers at corresponding input. In this way I could avoid to make 20+ pictures corresponding to every available language.

At the moment I'm not satisfied how the stair is generated in some circumstances.
It need to be a strictly correspondence between inputted values and the final results.
Now is not always the case.

I continue to bore you with my ramblings.
Probably this version will be the last with the classical look.
I intend to modify it accordingly with my taste.

-set turn step count as default for squared turn stair in place of step count
-add slope percent values
-fix partially job results for squared turn stair

-add pre-maded localization files for all available languages

Not always is WYSIWYG.
Most of the calculus I suppose it is correct but their interpretation need to be improved.
